In New Hampshire - the Live Free or Die - state we can carry openly or concealed with a permit. However, if you take a animal with the bow - you are not allowed to 'finish it off' with the handgun. The handgun is for your personal protection only - against other human's  --7-8-9, just don't get chased by a bear when deer hunting and think you can 'protect' yourself with it.

You now can in Alabama but only for personal protection... You better not be caught dispatching a wounded Animal. It was approved after numerous issues of Coyotes and Bobcats

In Wisconsin you can carry a handgun while archery hunting.  However, it must be visable not concealed.  Also, read your regs every year because there are new laws and new changes every year.

If you have a concealed carry permit you are allowed to carry concealed. In Wisconsin it is legal to open carry and conceal carry. And yes, it is imperative to read your regs EVERY year as laws change like the wind in this state.

In NY no firearm of any type is allowed when archery hunting, not sure of how concealed carry permit would play into this

Yes in Indiana.  I believe our law is similar to yours.  You can't use it on the animal, but for protection.

I guess we here in New Hampshire - the "Live Free or Die" state got it right. Yes we can carry a sidearm when bowhunting. It was a hard fought battle in the legislature but the Constitution won out. If you have a concealed carry permit you can carry concealed, if no permit you can carry exposed. F&G fought against this, but the legislature was convinced that a person's right of self protection was outside the scope of F&G's authority.
