I'm sure it's the same in Md DPD I'll check but knowing my great state they are still behind the times @--0--0126

probably bluetoe, with the coyotes and the rabid coons I would really feel uneasy walking in the woods without any firearms...we also have coydogs...half coyote and half dog...their the worst and bigger than a coyote  and dangerous in packs that they travel in...my father was going to get attacked by some when he was hunting luckily he had his gun, I've got a picture somewhere if I ever find it I'll post it of his coydog kill...they are really mean fang looking things --7-8-9

In Wisconsin you can carry a handgun while archery hunting.  However, it must be visable not concealed.  Also, read your regs every year because there are new laws and new changes every year.

I hunt alone 95% of the time and usually on public land.
During archery season, I am never without my handgun, visible on my belt.

Just in case I run into a bunch of guys who decide it might be more fun to hunt me than the current species!!

I am very glad we don't have the regulations some of these other states do!

In VA, you can carry if you have concealed weapons permit
I believe this is true in PA also. I will investigate further and let you know how the law reads.

In PA, those with CCW (concealed carry) permits can legally carry.  This was added to the regulations in 2007, I believe.

Yes it is allowed here in Alabama. But I never seen a reason to do so. But if hogs keep getting worse I will probably start carrying one.

Unless something has changed real recent, it is illegal in Alabama to carry any type firearm during bow season regardless of caliber. I will check on this to make certain.
That is what I was told by a game warden also.  I was wanting to carry one for yotes, but was told that was a no-no.

In MO you can't and I understand why.  But once again all this regulation is doing is keeping the honest people honest.  Personaly I dont see a problem with CC permit holders carrying both out in the field.  And If there were bears or mountain lions or hogs around where I hunted I would carry a back up pistol for protection regardless.  Cheaper to pay a fine if caught than medical bills or a funeral!

Same here in Michigan, but if I remember right, in Colorado you can carry open while bowhunting.  I hear ya Russcat, here in Michigan it isn't a good thought to be hunting bear with a bow and trying to walk out at night without any protection!
UNJ is correct and he is not correct... you can carry a handgun during archery season in Michigan but only if you have a CPL (CCW) and carry it concealed.  I always carry mine.

You can carry openly as well as long as you are not attempting to carry game with it.  CPL does not require concealed carry.

IN OHIO YOU MAY CARRY A HANDGUN WHILE HUNTING AND I THINK IT IS A GOOD IDEA, IF FOR NO OTHER REASON BUT FOR PERSONNEL PROTECTION AS CRIME IS GETTING BAD IN THIS STATE.

You can here in Maine. The law says that you can't use it to dispatch a deer.
