Musk Ox meat is Awsome!!

It is the only meat in Alaska that I can say tastes just like Beef. Fat and juicy too.
We like them so much, we got our three at the very first day of the season and 3 at that. Shared it around, before all the fly in hunters took the rest.
We have that herd in sight all the time, and they have good potential for next year , with 6 mature Bulls around, and so guys getting there. Counted them last week, there were 46 strung along, and thets just one river mouth.

 Plenty of Ox nowadays.

Alot of Trophy hunters shoot them while they are in rut and the taste is inedible. PUUUUUUKE!!

Musk Ox are the size of Elk in body but with short little legs and long hair. Hippys of the North....~~LOL!!~~

Misquitos are the state bird. You can have them by the Pound or by the Ton.

Congrats on a great hunt and stuffing your freezer!  It's a completely different deal when your doing it for survival.  I'm sure you and your families hunting skills are at a level only some of us could wish for.  Thanks for the story, pics, and videos.  Keep them coming.
