hunting of a different kind
« on: May 21, 2009, 12:36:03 PM »
Flounder  @--0--0121

Finally got my little skiff rigged and took it out for a couple nights of flounder "stalking" in the shallow sand flats. Night one we picked up 4. Nothing impressive just a decent first night for my first solo gigging trip.

Second night my buddies wife went with us. MAN, WHAT A NIGHT! We gave up at 12:30AM and said we'd had enough and were in bed pretty early for a gigging night!

Here's a pic from the night's work.
BTW, the redfish and trout WERE NOT gigged. They were both caught, legally, on a Heddon Zara Spook just before dark  --9-908

I've never heard of "gigging" for Flounder, we have to use hooks and beat the Osprey to them!  Good catch.  Eat well.

Nice job!  What are the size restrictions in FL?  In NJ they are 18 inches!
