Check out my pic's of the buffalo that I took in Nebraska with my bow, I was in Nebraska hunting on a friends ranch for Whitetail on the Niobrara river. He has a 25,000 acre working cattle ranch with Whitetails, Muleys, speed goats and a large herd of free ranging Buffalo. He needed too thin the herd a little so he said if we came across the herd and wanted to take one, too shoot one of the 3 year old bulls. As luck would have it, the herd was walking up the river bottom later that day not far from where I was hunting. I was on high ground with several tree to climb if they had charged. The Adrenalin was racing through me as they walked my way and I was walking towards them. I picked out a 3 year old Bull and waited for it to get clear from the herd, enough that if the arrow went through my Buffalo it wouldn't hit another one. It was quartering away and I made the shot. It hit solid and passed through too the other side towards the shoulder, the shoulder bone stopped the arrow but the damage had been done. Within 2 minutes the animal fell. I think I was the most nervous when the herd gathered around it to try to support the weakened Buffalo. All their tails were up and they were snorting. After it fell they kept nudging at it to get it up. I went and got my rancher friend after the herd moved on. We got his F350 with the wench to hoist it up from the river bottom. Then his John Deere front end loader to lift it up to Fields dress. We ate well that night...

That's a great buffalo, did you require a new freezer? That's a lot of steaks there. Should cut down on the groceries.  Bow
