We had a blast.... Wendy is quite the BIRD DOG extrodinaire... she can flush (fluff, in her words) a covey of quail better than any bird dog I have seen. Ha!! We had 6 women shooters and my husband shot. We only lost 12...well 3 we never could get a point on, so really we lost 9. I hate that huntinggal missed this event. Maybe she can make it to the next one.

There was nothing finer than a day spent with friends, doing something you love to do, and the weather couldn't have been any better. I can't wait for us to get together again and shoot something.. anything, even clays.

Mine and Porkchops next adventure is a turkey hunt. Woo hoo!!

Oh and by the way... here are some pictures PORKCHOP didn't share with ya'll.....

Her and her little sis sitting down on the hunt....

And....yet again.....  @--0--0125

And... WHAT....  @--0--0117 AGAIN!!!

And finally I had to give them the "If you can't play with the big dogs" lecture... After all they are from Georgia...

Naw... really they did a great job and hunted hard... LIFE IS GOOD!!

i've never hunted quail and i am definitely not sure i can hit a moving target...at least not something as small as a lil birdy....i dunno....i think i have TONS of practice with my shotgun before a hunt like this could be possible....but i too think that even if i didn't shoot a thing it would be a blast hangin out with the chicas...lol....

Huntingal... One quote sums it all up...

There is one guarantee to quail hunting: If you don't shoot, you are most definitely going to miss it!! Curtis "Sonny" McLellan

Never let "what you think you can't do" stop you from attending an event. That thought alone can be a persons biggest road block. We have women of all experience levels attend these hunts. I have only been shooting a shotgun two years, some others on this hunt much less than that. Hey, you saw how Porkchop done it... sitting down...  --099-780  (just kiddin' Bird dog.... uh, I mean Porkchop)!!

We love the comraderie and fellowship... and yes, we pick on each other for misses and other shennanagans that happen in the field, but this is what memories are made of. I wished I had taken heed to some advice many years ago and I would not have missed out so long on this great sport.

You just need to plan on coming along, weapon in tow, next time. You can do it... and doing it with friends makes you better. By the way, let me know when you want to tag along to a 3-D event. You are welcome to ride with us anytime.
