just a note --- to enter a sanctioned nwtf event you have to be a member of nwtf first

uga get with callmaker - he is one of our sponsors (straight creek calls) on here and he can hook you up with his nephew mike who calls competitively for him

I had never been to a event until this weekend and was going to enter it blindly, boy I am glad I didnt.  Not because I cant call but mainly because I had no Idea of how the event is set up, judged etc... It was definitely a learning experience.  There is alot to it besides just blowing on your turkey call.  I had a blast watching the guys call it was a  awesome experience.  I'm thinking about going to Perry Georgia 13,14 and 15 February to compete in that one.  I would definitely go on the NWTF website and see where the next calling contest is nearest your location and make the trip.

Cabela's, Bass Pro, and/or Dick's all have some competitions each spring around here.  I have no idea who the various sponsoring organizations are, etc.  I would start with the local NWTF chapter.
