bow season opens
« on: September 13, 2021, 07:40:58 PM »
Bow season opens this weekend in Mn. I had a 120 inch 8 point feeding in my foodplots for the last month. He disapeared last week. No pics of him in the last 8 days. i bought a bonus doe tag so if he doesnt show up I might go Doe hunting. As long as I'm hunting "its all good".

Dang PJ - seems like it would be awfully hot and muggy and buggy to be in the woods now down there.

We have an early doe season on private land on Sept 18 and 19.  Regular bow season starts Oct 1st,  closes Nov 14 and opens on Dec 1, runs to Jan 1. Firearm season opens Nov 15, closes Nov 30. Haven't checked when ML season opens, but it's on Dec. Late doe season opens on Dec, also.

I had a heck of a day in the deer woods today. I am hunting a shooting lane that is 1/2 a mile long. My stand sits in between a 50 acre alfalfa field and a 2 acre foodplot. The trails are huge and 3 dandy bucks are on camera using the trails but some movement is after dark. I even got a pic of a 6 point Elk. Almost a full moon, 80 degrees and 25 mile winds but I got up and went hunting this morning. No deer came by me but 2 Timberwolf came by me at 20 yards. first time I've ever seen a Wolf in bow range when I was bow hunting. First time in 42 years of bowhunting. I did pass up a spork on saturday evening at 31 yards. great weekend in the woods.
