Range Results for 8-5-2020 - part 2 of 2
« on: August 06, 2020, 08:18:48 AM »
This post is all about the Remington 700 Varmint 243...it had the bore sited tag on to the barrel when I decided to take it to the range...so I thought that it would be on paper at least at 50 yards. I would shoot it a couple of times then take it to the target I had set up for it at 100 yards....Don't know what happen, had only 7 rounds that I had loaded up for it....but I ran out of ammo at 50 yards for it...apparently I did not bore sited it!!! As you can see!!

This was the rifle that I had a tough Leupold mounted on...the power ring was very tough to turn. I sent it back to Leupold to have them adjust the scope to make the power ring easier to turn...In the mean time I had mounted a Vortex on it and thought I had bore sited it...but apparently I didnot...Daaa....so I tried to get it sight in at just 50 yards but ran out of ammo instead...will load up more ammo and take it back to the range...like Dutch, I do like the 243 Win....

Enjoy the day....Bo

Mad - I know you are right, especially at 50 yards, 1 click does not mean a 1/4 inch at that distance, you need to clicks for a quarter inch....but I like to walk the scope in to make sure that the scope is marked right for the direction...I got a scope one time that was the opposite way they said it would go...if it said move left it actually meant for it to go right and up and down where the same way...LOL...

i hear you on 'walking the scope in', but i normally go right to the mark. if i can't trust my scope to do that, why have it IMO?

keep after it
