Range Result for 6-25-2020 Part 2 of 2
« on: June 27, 2020, 07:16:21 AM »
Part 2 of range results is the Blaser R93 300WSM.....this week I was using some old 200 gn DRT ammo that I had left over. use it this week instead of the 185 gn Bergers. Again it was a clean barrel and not fouling shots were shot. No adjustment of the Swarovski scope was made....just three shots on target....I order this ammo way back when in 2009 when I went on Safari #1 but they sent me the wrong ammo they sent me 300 Win Mag ammo instead of 300 WSM ammo....daaa...so I went back and used my Barnes TSX bullet that I had loaded up. Was getting 7/8" groups at 200 yards consistently....but after I got back they had sent me a box of 300 WSM free of charge!! they realized their mistake, still have the box of 300 Win Mag...20 rounds of DRT ammo!! and not have 17 rounds of the 300 WSM left....

I did adjust after shooting the three rounds after checking to see if the scope was loose of the mounts to the barrel...the whole rifles along with the 243 and 280 are engineering works of wonder...it is truly amazing of how the Germany thinks - of everything, down to the last detail....

The Blaser R93 300 WSM and the Savage M220 in 20 gauge both kicks hard and I shot them back to back....they gave me a headache sort of speak...LOL...

Attached are 3 other miscellaneous pictures taken at the range on Thursday....

Yari - Where (the position) I was shooting last Thursday, the Bosledge is not as affected if the concrete bench was smooth, that adds to the recoil...the newer positions 1 through 4 have newer rougher concrete and it help dig in the Bosledge or any sledge you many want to us....As far as recoil goes, the 6.5 PRC and the 20 gauge slug gun gave me a slight headache after shooting them...still waiting about 15 to 20 minutes between shots, my should still feels it...getting old sucks....

But as long as all my rifle have brakes on them except for the Savage M220 Slug Gun in 20 gauges, as long as they have a brake on them I'm OK...I bet those rifle that don't have brakes on them and are magnums they kick like crazy....from my 7mm Rem Mags and up...with the exceptions of the 338 Lapua and the 50 caliber Barrett have monster brakes the end of the barrels on them and their recoils are not bad, both kick like a 30-06....

The 6.5 PRC in the Mossberg Patriot is a very light rifle, thin barrel and it kicks pretty good, same goes for my Christensen Arm rifle with its carbon fiber barrel and the factory muzzle brake, I would say that both of them kick about the same....

The Mossberg Patriot 308 shot really good last week....so I loaded up the remaining 24 Sierra Prohunter Bullets using Vhit 140 powder and Lapua brass and CCI -primers....so I ordered another 400 Sierra Prohunter....they came in today and it will probably last me the rest of my life....
