PA Snow Birds
« on: May 11, 2020, 08:04:28 AM »
You call them turkey, here in PA on May 9, 2020 we call them snow birds. This weather is crazy and our season is among the latest in the country. This is my friend Jeff with his spring gobbler, I stayed in the house, didn't feel like getting out all of my deer gear and clothing to hunt turkey. On the 9th, the very next day, it was 70 degrees (Mother's Day).

Congrats to him!!  Weather is crazy.

I was walking out of the farm store in a blizzard on Friday then driving home 5 mins later it was all fog from the steam coming off the roads.  I was in shorts the whole week prior. Granted anything over 50 and I am wearing shorts.  LOL

Gut we got out of there on Friday morning! Wind cold rain but we made the most of it. I could get a Gobbler to come to a call. hear a lot of gobbling could have shot at least two sneaky Jakes but I passed. I got this week here in Md to make it happen.

Good luck to you BLUETOE, I'm heading back to camp on Thursday for a few days. I hope to get back on them again. The temps should be in the 70s but still calling for scattered rain showers. Hopefully our luck will change.

I couldn't get out on our opener, did get out for 3 hrs a week later. Didn't hear a thing, and went down hill from there. Windy, rainy, cold, decided I was done for the season, which ends at the end of the month, but I jus don't feel like going out again.
