Best budget 28 gauge over/under?
« on: February 29, 2020, 12:51:50 PM »
Hey y'all!!! I'm wanting and over/under 28 gauge. Don't need nothing fancy, but it's got to be reliable. I want to stay under $500. It is gonna be a hunter and on occasion may take out a few clay birds. Just need a meat and potatoes gun that wont let me down. So what do you guys have and what do you suggest? Thanks!!!!

Here is a CZ for around $630, looks good and I am always a CZ fan.....I own plenty of them from a 375 H&H to a 22 LR in a CZ-455......good company, good products.....

I've been pretty impressed with the CZ stuff too, but don't own any so can't comment about reliability and support from them.  Regardless of how cheap a given model might be though, find one and get a feel for whether it fits you and how well you like their controls, etc before you buy.  A few years ago I was itching for an O/U, and being a tightwad I looked at the Stoeger Condor.  Don't know if they offer a 28, I was looking at 12 and 20 gauge models.  They all had a very stiff action and just didn't fit me well, so started looking for a used gun and ultimately found a deal on a Franchi Instinct that I'm really happy with.

Go to the Budsguns.com website and set the filters to look for 28 gauge over and under shotguns then sort by price low to high.  There are about a half dozen options close to your price range.  There's a Stevens model listed there which I remember liking before I bought my used one.  Good luck!
