I was watching an episode of Hunt Masters and Greg has a Nikon mounted on his T/C single shot rifle ......I bet you can get a good deal on a bunch of scope in the coming days....if anybody finds a good close out sale please post it on TH......

I will miss Nikon, I still own 2 of the 35mm Cameras and 9 fixed and variable Lenses....that is why back in the very early 80's I was excited about Nikon getting into the scope market.....am eyeballing the Canon EOS line, maybe someday....

A month or so ago I went to Nikon's web page, where no mention was made of exiting the scope business, and they were still shown as part of the product line.  Just looked again today and the entire website has been revamped, no mention of exiting the business, and no mention of them in their product line or even in their product history.  Can't even find "rifle scope" or "riflescope" using the search function.  Looks like they've thoroughly cleansed themselves of any association with that segment of their business.

I would agree with Yari on this one - I would not buy one until Nikon publicly made a statement on their web page. Maybe this is a hush-hush type deal, on a need to know bases!! I would be looking at Leupold or Vortex as a option.....

Got a Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop 36 page flyer in the snail mail today and there was only one Nikon scope listed and it was half price...of all the scopes that were listed on the two pages - none of them were nikon except for that one scope....if that doesn't tell you something.....
