Doe Down!
« on: October 09, 2019, 08:28:35 PM »
Went out this morning and hoping to find one particular doe. She was the larger of three that have been running around by my stand. I think I mentioned that in the post about the coffee break. Well, they came back around 6:45 AM and I could see the movement but couldn't tell what they were. At 7, I could see the three does but wasn't sure if they were the mom and the fawns or the larger doe with the two smaller ones. Finally got a fix that she was the one I was looking for and waited for a broadside shot. At 7:15AM she gave me the shot and I took it. She ran around 75 cards to my right. I saw her drop and got that cup of coffee and waited for a little bit. Then went over and she was dead. A great day in the woods today! I did notice today that when you put God first in everything, even hunting, you open up the possibility of God doing something special for you. It doesn't always happen but when it does, you know it was Him! I'm thankful and humbled that He has allowed me to harvest another one of His deer!

Agreed BC, well stated.  That does look like a big old doe with that long snout.  Glad you were able to enjoy your coffee break this morning!

Congrats Bearclaw on another fine deer for your freezer collection. God is good, all the time. Two more tags to fill for you and you can skip all the cold weather hunting. Good luck the rest of the season. PS don't forget your coffee  @--0--0118

Congrats, BC! that doe will make some fine eating! Events like you getting your doe, makes you realize that the Lord is interested in our lives, even with the little things.
