it's the same every year. the only variable that effects daytime movement is weather. heat shuts it down

Yep - heat or a heavy downpour.  After getting about 12" of rain here in the last two weeks, I'm hoping we're past the monsoon season. Nov 7 - 20th tends to be our primary rut around here, towards the front end of that here in central IL and more towards the latter part in southern IL.  We're going to drop to mid 40s tonight, I'm heading out to the woods with the Xbow in the morning to see if I can surprise one although we have all of the corn standing yet, so it's likely that the woods will be dead.

Yessir Yari, I believe you're right.  Maybe that naked raindance in the yard at midnight during the last full moon was overkill?
