Fall Permit
« on: September 09, 2019, 09:16:44 PM »
I did not get one last year. While deer hunting about 15 turkeys wandered under and around my stand. Its my land and I could have wacked  em with my cross bow but I refrained. That is how I roll.

So, I got one this year. Just in case.........

i bought my bow tag yesterday. i got 5 doe tags along w/ one buck tag. they obviously think there are too many deer.

if i want more doe tags, i can buy them for $12 each

it was the same last year. i think the DNR has lost it's marbles. there aren't that many deer around

I agree about the DNR our deer tags you can take 12 deer... 2 bucks and 10 does we don't have that many deer but they are sure pushing taking does!

Our population started to rebound 2-3 years ago after a huge drop. It has plateaued again now, our DNR is still giving out many too many tags in my opinion.  They did institute a two buck limit a few years ago, but really should be more limited on antlerless tags too.

I've been wondering if it would Yari, but so far haven't heard anything locally about it.  Makes me wonder if the bitter cold we had last winter killed off the midges?  Last couple of weeks we've gotten some rain finally, so if the EHD hasn't started yet maybe we'll get lucky this time.

The drought has been really spotty.  It was bad around here for a couple of months but even worse over by Quincy.  It's likely that certain areas have been hit with ehd this year. That's kind of what it was like in the 2012-ish timeframe around us when we had it pretty bad for three out of four years.

Alabama and New Jersey have no limits on doe. I forget my GA regs.

If I get out if here to Florida I look forward to hunting back south!
