grilled turkey
« on: July 29, 2019, 08:28:57 PM »
I came within inches of grilled turkey on the way home yesterday. I came over a hill and saw a head. I went from 55 to 0 in no time. it was so close, my hood was blocking some of the birds. there were 4 hens w/ all their kids, which were the size of a hen pheasant. the kids were too busy chasing the one that had some food to notice me. it took a minute for them to see me, then they took to flight. there must have been 25-30 in all. if I wasn't able to stop, I would have taken out 7-8 of the kids. we both got lucky there

it's hard to believe they can survive a winter like we had last year. they always amaze me

Yep, amazing what those critters can put up with, glad you were able to stand on the brakes in time.

They survive some harsh conditions for sure. Glad you were able to get stopped that grilled recipe is not very good.
