Survived Another Trip To Minnesota
« on: June 28, 2019, 10:22:51 PM »
Just got back last night from a few days up north fishing at Farm Island Lake in Minnesota.  Had a great time.  It was 7 of us, mostly from our church and all retirees, staying at a small lakeside cabin owned by one of the party.  Fishing wasn't stellar, but we caught stuff every day and more than enough for a fish fry so I call it a success.  Largemouth, smallmouth, northern pike, rock bass, bluegill, and a big walleye (nearly 4 pounds) found their way into the boat, and many of them were promptly returned to the lake.  We had quite a bit of rain, and the lake (like most things this spring) is really behind where it would typically be in late June.  Weeds weren't too bad yet, but the bass still had eggs in them, so apparently the spawn hasn't really happened yet?  Regardless, it was a blast to get away & hang out with a bunch of great guys, and get caught up on what everyone is doing, where the kids have landed, etc.  Got a little work done on the cabin too, but mostly fishing or kicking back with a beverage in hand.
One of God's greatest gifts to us is
the great outdoors - get out there
and enjoy it!
