Things are changing in Pennsylvania...Deer Season!
« on: June 18, 2019, 07:10:56 PM »
Read an article in American Hunter today that indicated a few changes for the upcoming Pennsylvania hunting season.

Fluorescent orange is no longer required during archery season for whitetail, elk and bear. the blaze orange is no longer required for tall turkey season.

The biggest change will be that firearm deer season will now open on the Saturday after Thanksgiving which will give the state 3 Saturdays of gun season and move the season for firearm to 13 days. There is no Sunday hunting permitted in Pennsylvania.

Wow - you guys needed orange for archery?  Even in the backwards state of IL we don't need orange for bow/crossbow unless we're hunting during one of the gun seasons.  All firearm deer seasons and upland game (rabbits/quail/pheasants/etc) require blaze orange cap & upper garment here.

Beat me to it!!

I am surprised by some of the laws still in place.    I do recall not being able to hunt in Sundays in at least one county here in MI when I was younger.   That is really tough for us weekend warriors that have a difficult time hunting during the week.

Orange was not required for archery hunters, it was for the other gun hunters during the overlap of other seasons during archery season.
