Father's Day Present
« on: June 09, 2019, 11:06:27 AM »
My wife ask me the other day what do I want/need for Father's Day.....I told her let me think about it...a few day later over dinner at a nice restaurant (like our local small Mexican Restaurant (It's literally a hole in the wall place), I told her that I need a 6.5 CM in a Bergara M14....she laughed and the she said what else, I told her how bought a Blase R93 Stock for between $1000 and $2000 bucks.....then she ask me about is there any tools that I need....it was the funniest exchange we had in a long time.....she just sat there sober and looked right through me....I started laughing and almost crying by her expression....

So, what do you guys want and what do you expect to get in about two weeks......

Yeah Bo, my standard answer for years when I get the "what do you want for . . ." has been "a Benelli" and I get similar responses, or the warden simply stating "you already have enough guns".  My smart--- little daughter got me a little pink stuffed unicorn one year and put a little tag on it's neck that of course said Benelli, thought she was so cute!  I'm not really needing much other than a couple more guns, and since I'll have to buy those on my own I'm guessing Father's day will bring a shirt or two and maybe a new (and empty) wallet.  Hopefully in a couple of weeks can get together with all the kids for a few days, that will be the best gift I can expect.

for father's day, we will probably go out on the boat, weather permitting. i just bought a pistol, so i guess i got my own present ##$%#13

mad- you better get that benelli pretty soon. their price is going through the roof. i think they are 2x what i bought mine for

Well got my Father Days Present - it is a Wendy's $20 gift certificate......LOL...We go there because it is a very cheap dinner and my wife love that fact...we both can eat and be full when we leave for a whopping $8.74...for both of us...now that is cheap eats for sure....

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there and to my Dad who isn't with us anymore, as long as I am on this side of the dirt I will wish him a Happy Father's Day no matter where he is.....

I got a new wallet, some beef jerky, and a Blues jersey! Celebrated last night since wife was leaving early this morning for a mission trip with the youth group.  Had a good day though with my youngest, caught a couple channel cat out of the backyard pond and fried them up for supper.  Yari - that trick of cutting the gills really works, will have to keep that in mind.  Channel cat were 4-6" in fall of 16 when I stocked the pond, both were about 17" today.  Just about perfect for eatin.

I got a new leafy camo suit and a new Avian turkey decoy from my wife. A $20 gift card for the Waffle House from one daughter (my favorite place for breakfast!) and a nice engraved cutting board from my other daughter with a brown trout and flyreel on it. My wife had to work so went out to dinner with my daughters and families. Nice Father's Day!

Stocked it initially with minnows and they're still reproducing.  Everything was stocked at one time, nothing added since then. The bass and channel cat are both doing great, but the bluegill are short of my expectations at the moment.  Loads of frogs and tadpoles too so the  predator fish aren't likely to be starving.

Just pan fried the fillets, used the Andy's Cajun breading that I had up at the ice shack.  Good stuff.
