I know! You went fishing with the game warden and he used dynamite.

alright, i might have over sold this a bit. it's not like i'm the first fisherman to embellish a bit. @--0--0105

i went to the St Croix River last night. this is the 3rd time out this year. i only caught 1 walleye the last 2 trips. the river is still at flood stage, so no wake. that has kept me from a lot of good places. 4-5 mph doesn't get you far. my wife went both times and was trying to figure out how i couldn't catch fish w/ all the gear i have @--0--0105 i left her home last night. when she asked what i did different i said "i left the smart allic anchor in the front of the boat at home this time". --099-780 i had to duck on that one

i got out at 2:00. i caught my first walleye at 2:30. by 3:30 i was limited out.(6 fish) i located a group of hungry eyes. i also had 3 shorts under 15" that i let go and a jumbo perch as a bonus. it really makes you wonder why they "censored Word" of a sudden went nuts? @--0--0117 @--0--0117

it was a great night. i only had 1 other boat around and he was out all day and doing OK. he was still 2 short of his limit when i left. now i need the water to go down.

i didn't even need Mad there to catch my fish. @--0--0105   i

Well hey, just for the record - - I'd be happy to catch your fish any time, just call when you need help.

Congrats on the quick limit - that's always fun on those occasions where they're almost jumping into the boat.  Be careful now in how you speak to the better half about this - she may not come along in the future and then who would fetch your beers, get the moss off your hooks, etc - think about it!

Ya hay dare don'tcha know - gotta have that drink for medicinal purposes in case you cut yourself while cleaning dem fish - the antiseptic properties take care of things from the inside out when you spring a leak in a finger.

(I'm good with that explanation from my northern friends, and try to practice safe fish cleaning myself)

right now. i just need the water spic-it to stop. 3 1/2" in the last 5 days. if i don't get rain for 2 weeks, the no -wake MIGHT come off. it's 3' over flood stage still

on the food plot side, fertilizer is going to be very expensive because the barges can't make it up here. YIKES

I hear ya.  Down here in the Peoria area the river has been above flood stage 5-8 feet for about a month.  Down near St Louis where I grew up, the Mississippi is again 9' above and going to 12' above by Saturday, assuming no more rain of course - - they've been above flood stage for about 6 weeks.  This is getting ridiculous.
