Yeah that's a good clip Yari, I remember seeing that a while back.  We should all think about what our speech is when someone asks that question - - I'm sure it would be a little different for all of us but at the same time there would be a lot of overlap in our responses too.  Sadly, as Randy states, the bulk of the population is getting further and further from that first hand awareness of how things work, and as such they have no comprehension, no appreciation for what it is that we all hold so dear when we're out in the woods or on the water.  Heck, millions no longer even go into a grocery store, opting instead to eat out or have their groceries delivered, much less set foot on a farm to understand meat/grain/vegetable production, even less to understand that sportsmen are the reason we still have relatively healthy populations of wildlife for all to enjoy, whether they hunt or not.  They make decisions on what is right based on emotions & the things they see in Disney movies, not with any understanding of the harsh realities of facts that govern nature.

I agree with Randy's comments, but would also include that it's maintaining a connection with family members & friends that have gone on before me, people I used to hunt and fish with, people who taught me more than I will ever really know, and our ancestors before them who relied on what nature offered as a means of survival.  I get stir crazy in short order if I can't get outdoors, and it's amazing how even a short trip (perhaps even just to the pond behind the house) can allow me to relax and get my head straightened out.

Thanks for posting!

Good points.

Who knows what is pumped into store bought meat etc.

No issues with naturally taken critters IMHO
