we are buried in snow. over 40" this month(old record was 26") I don't know what the turkeys could find to eat. under the snow is 1/2" of ice so scratching won't work.

it could be a slow season in WI. I expect a lot of dead birds

gobbling already? seems early

We don't have that much snow, but what we have is crusty, too.

We are seeing large flocks around here every day, the gobble has been on for over a week or so, BUT our season doesn't open until the 1st of May, most of you will be done with killing all the birds by then and our longbeards will be done breading. They need to change the season here from spring gobbler to summer gobbler. The last day is Memorial Day and still no Sunday hunting  @--0--0117

Gut the only problem with your plan is that the toms will be grouped up and really hard to call in , at that point you'd be shooting them out of trees .  ##$%#1118

sundowner that is my point, our season is way to late. Should be late March to end of April. Most birds that I have taken are late day during their feeding patterns, hens are nested up and the toms rarely answer to calls in the morning once they come off the roost. The first two weeks of the season you can only hunt the morning until noon, the last two weeks up to Memorial day you can hunt dusk to dawn.

Gutshot, if we tried to hunt dusk to dawn, we would end up in a cell! We can only hunt dawn to dusk! ha ha

buckone1 you are killing me  --099-780 that will get you in a cell too, and that's what I thought those dusk to dawn lights were for? So I'm guessing I should take them off of my shotguns?  --09--0

We open April 18th through May 23rd, not too far out in front of PA but I do have my PA tags for two birds so either way, I will be out in the PA turkey woods as well as here in Maryland!
