« on: February 19, 2019, 11:20:34 AM »
Hey everyone I got a question. Where can I get a complete Bolt for a Rem 700 BDL in 25.06? I got a chance to buy the gun at a really great price and it is in right good shape but it is missing the bolt assembly. I need am looking for a standard bolt nothing fancy. I appreciate any help.

Dang, did a little web surfing, bolts are harder to find than I expected.   Midway USA has some, but not cheap (looks like $300 or more.)

Blue - Also go to Brownell's website and see if they offer a 700 action.....you best bet maybe to find a used rifle (long action of course) and get is as cheap as possible and then go from there....I have two 25-06's (one of them a old blue Remington Sendero that shots great, under 1/2" MOA using 115 and 117 gn bullets...

But you might want start with looking in Pawn Shops or at work or a local gunsmith may know of someone trying to get rid of one....What kind of barrel, length, twist, manufacturer, barrel material and finish are you thinking about??

Just trying to help....Bo

Never heard of someone selling a class gun like that without a bolt. I would make sure it is not stolen first.

Yeah - per Bo's suggestion, it looked to me like you could buy an action (with bolt) as cheaply as you could buy a bolt alone.  That was based only on what I saw looking at Brownell & Midway sites.

Bo- The rest of the gun is good so it will be the factory 24 in barrel and wood stock.

Thanks guys I will look into an action and a bolt together- I don't really need the rifle gut it is a good deal and it is not stolen BTW.

Update: I was going to buy the rifle for 200.00 and find a bolt for it and just have me a 25.06 for whatever. Some chucklehead come along and offers the guy 350.00. Well I could justify putting that much money into the rifle- bolt, refinish the stock myself, scope and mounts etc so I passed on buying it. i found another complete Remington 25.06 BDL with a scope and mounts for 650.00. I would have spend more than that on the incomplete rifle.

No I didn't buy it. I really don't need a 25.06 but if I can get one on a "good deal" I'll take it. I was just saying my good deal wasn't good unless i got the rifle for 200.00.
