Got the Vortex in - since the CF2 don't have a serial number, it hard to know whether they repair it or just replaced it....my guess it that it was they just replaced it...the fast focus back ring was all the way close, and my I did leave half a turn so it would stick out some. The power ring is/was a little stiff when I try to change the power. The one I sent back you could easily turn the power ring...so those to things and it came like a brand new scope as well, with the cleaning cloth an owners manual, and the way it was shipped back all lead me to think that they just sent me a replacement scope.....either way, the warranty service was fast and friendly....

Now the CVA Muzzleloader has to be sent back because it won't latch or lock up.....so we will see what happens...have sent them an email explaining the problem to them and now the waiting game begins.....

But the Vortex warranty does live up to its name!!!

Sundowner - Thanks, just came back from the external garage where I keep all the boxes for my scopes, rifle, binoculars and spotting scopes.....and you are right....the replace the scope completely due to "Bent Scope Body" that was on the repair sheet....wow, did not know that I had that kind of strength....actually if it was bent it came from China that way...because I baby my optics, all of them....wow....I do not tighten over 18 inch pounds.....

I've heard of folks driving over vortex binos, rangers, and scopes or dropping them down cliffs and they stood by their warranty. they definitely do it right.

I still want to take a tour of their factory in WI

Yari - Hahaha....I guess if you want to take a factory tour you will have to learn a second language....and pack your bags....I would love to visit their USA repair shop and see what's going on.....but as far as their production - some of their scopes are made in China and some are made in the Philippines, some are made in South Korea...just depends on the line....their Razor line is made in Japan and the crossfire line is made in China...just depends on the line....

Went ahead and change out scopes and put the New Vortex CF2 4-12X x 44mm on the Savage ML this morning and will put the 2.5-8X x 36mm on the Christensen Arm BA Tactical that is on its way....I think....but am real happy with the communications and warranty service from Vortex...could not be happier....that is why Vortex is ratings are climbing up to the Leupold status.....

Yari - I agree, they are trying to put the consumer first. This may come back to bit them but at least 95% of the folks are honest people....

Reminds me of a story about Mr Rich of Riches of Atlanta, where they had a chain of stores, big stores, not small ones either...but no matter how long you have had the product, you could at any time bring it back for your money back or exchange it for another one....his opinion was that 95% of the folks were honest and hard working....when he past away, his kids kept the chain for a few years, but then sold out to a company located in New York, and things started to change rapidly and then it went out of business....long gone are those days.....I guess I grew up in a place and time when your hand shake was good as a signed document........miss those days....
