season is officially over
« on: February 02, 2019, 04:15:34 PM »
we had a huge warm-up today. 35 above as I write this. I decided to enjoy it and took down stands and cams for the year. the season ended 1/31. it's always a tough pill to swallow being done, but it was a good season.

the big 8 pt I was after was last on cam 1/14. if he made it 2 more weeks, he's going to be a toad this fall. I only saw him 1 time on stand and that was 1 hour before I shot my bonus 10 pt. after that he was nocturnal. I hope he stays close to the minerals!

anyone ever have a cam that only takes daytime pics? one of my brownings is doing this. it's the newest one! i'll contact browning next week. hopefully it just a software upgrade or something simple

2018-2019 deer season signing off. 7 1/2 months until opener and lots of butt time on the tractor ##$%#117 ??? @--0--0117

We hit the low 40s today, supposed to be in the 50s Monday.  Deer season finished about two weeks ago for us, but really want to focus on the yotes when I get back home.  With retirement coming in March I really hope to spend more time working on deer stuff for the fall, both plots and stands.

Suppose to be low 70's today.  Deer season ended two weeks ago.  Still have 3 cameras up.  I will start looking for sheds in 2 weeks and like Mad gonna start predator hunting pretty hard next week.  We had a great season and learned a lot about the new place.  I have a ton of time to spend holding a chainsaw in the coming months.

We had almost a full week of below zero weather, and today it's 39 degrees.  Go figure. Just looking forward to turkey hunting in April.
