I was sitting in my recliner 30 minutes ago and notice movement to my left.  I looked out the window and see a bobcat walking across my pool cover!  I grabbed the .204 and eased out the front door, luckily for me there he was walking along my fence.  I shot him twice at 30 yards...bobcat down!

Louie - He didn't have a pretty enough coat to mount.  So, at the wife's request, we cut his head off and put it under the 55 gallon drum along with the other bobcat, beaver and about a dozen duck heads.  Around September we should have some really nice skulls to display.  We had a reduction of 75% in quail this year statewide.  However, my place was seeing quail for the first time in years.  So we are trying to rid the place of some predators for the quail's sake.  Also, and primarily, we are trying to protect our little dog as Mad stated.  This is the second time we caught one in the yard.  This was a good sized male and the first male we have ever killed out of a dozen or so.  We still have two younger bobcats that we know of roaming the property by the house.  Next weekend we are predator hunting and hopefully have some more pictures to post.  We have a yearly bag limit of 20 per person in Oklahoma.

Split Toe - Yes that is Lake Eufaula.  It is the largest lake in Oklahoma consisting of 105,000 acres.

Ben that's an excellent fishery for smallmouth bass as I've heard of it. We have a lake in Georgia and Alabama named Eufaula on the Alabama side and Walter F. George on the Georgia side which has some awesome bass fishing...again that is one awesome view!

In Illinois you can apply for a permit (not guaranteed) which only allows you to take one that year.

Thanks everyone we enjoy the view too!

Yari - Yes 20 per license.  So between the wife and I, we can hammer down on 40 bobcats per year!

Split Toe - I have heard it is well known for crappie too.  I know they have some type of tournament every weekend when it gets a little warmer.  We actually went to the noodling tournament weigh-in last year and had a blast.  When I tell people I live on Lake Eufaula or look something about Lake Eufaula on the internet, I always have to say Oklahoma as it tries to direct me to Alabama.  @--0--0105
