The 330 strikes again!
« on: January 15, 2019, 10:58:39 AM »
I have been trying to get this guy for a while.  I tried setting the 330 on one of his slides but he kept going around them.  I decided to block off the additional slides in order to funnel him into one, well that didn't work either.  So I decided to try the method that worked for me last time...bust the dam and place the trap in the narrow funnel of water running through the remainder of the dam.  After two days it worked.  I hope this is the last one, but probably isn't.  I will keep the trap in the shop until I see more evidence of others at which time the 330 will be placed back on active duty!

Gotta love a Conibear, they don't miss too often once triggered.  I used to trap a lot of muskrats with 110's as a kid - one time caught one by the tail, have no idea how that actually happened - he had a ball of ice frozen on the end of his tail & was drowned when I got there - have only had a couple of cases where the trap was tripped with no critter out of hundreds I caught.  Well done Ben!

Nice catch, I hope that's the one you were looking for. My bet is there are more or at least another one wondering where his partner went to.  --099-780
