Otter sign
« on: December 28, 2018, 08:33:44 AM »
I've owned my property for about 10 years now. I have a creek running through the entire parcel.Besides the normal array of critters I can now add an Otter.I noticed his sign sliding through the frozen ice covered swamp grass an in and out of my creek.I never realized the claws on them.

Maybe it's time to take up trapping and make a few dollars for the hides if they are worth anything.  @--0--0117

They'll clear a farm pond of the majority of its fish in no time!

Pretty cool! But if there is more than one, then there would be an otter one! Sorry, couldn't help myself!

Already stated they will clean a pond out quick. The are so awesome to watch if you can catch them unaware. Hides have dropped the last couple of years they were bringing over a hundred bucks a few years back.

There is no season in my neck of the woods altho the DEC is interested in their sightings. Fur prices are down and luckily I have a trapper that traps my beaver, muskrats, etc for fun .
