I did find another shimano 2000 series I will bring. it will work, but if you have any smaller reels they would be smoother.

In the spinning reel department I have a light weight Browning to bring along and also a medium weight if needed.  Assume those will work reasonably well?

bring them. they will work. you never know if you need a spare. if we tie into a sturgeon, laker or northern they can burn up a reel pretty quick. I really hope we do. they are all a blast, but rare.

i'm heading up a week from today. I can't wait. I wish I could get out 1 time before I go for a gear check, but the ice has been iffy here. i'll figure it out.

WOW. good thing we weren't up there this weekend. I just saw some pics. they had 50-60mph winds on top of record February snowfall. there are no roads and many people are stranded. what a mess!!!! anything that was on the lake got drifted in

I've been there w/ 50mph winds, but never w/ all this snow. I hope everyone is accounted for. they have a lot of work to do to get back up and running, but they are a tough bunch up there

I saw Hwy 35 in S MN is still closed the snow is still 3-4' tall in most places. they have to attack it w/ blowers since plows can't move it. what a wild weekend

Yeah, it's really nuts.  My daughter is at IA State out in Ames, sounds like they had 35 shut down out there for a while as well.  All we had this weekend was insane wind and a few flurries.  Lost more shingles but didn't have to plow snow! @--0--0101

Late last week we had rain and temps in the 40's - there's no snow left on the ground here other than leftovers from a few big drifts or piles we pushed up with the plows.  Ground is still frozen though, so all of that rain and snowmelt just went straight to runoff, have had some flooding issues in the area.

Yari   sounds like the Sheriffs department is going to send up a Helicopter to locate everyone. A guy from work has a friend that was stranded for 26 hours as of 230 pm today and still cant get off the lake. The plow hasn't made it to them yet as of 230 today.
