here's a thought
« on: November 17, 2018, 09:04:05 PM »
we were thinking about ideas to get together. I know this isn't for everybody, but if we want o get a group together for a LOTW ice fishing trip I could try to organize it.

unlike Erie, we wouldn't have to worry about big winds keeping us off the lake.  @--0--0118 @--0--0118 travel may be an issue in the winter though. I could pic folks up at the mpls airport if needed

just a thought. it's an acquired taste, no doubt. I think it's a good time. sleep, eat and drink on the ice. what more could you want? @--0--0117 @--0--0117

When I think of ice fishing all I can think of is the "Grumpy Old Men" movie.

Can we do this in the summer when it's not so cold?  --099-780 Sub zero weather I can deal with for deer hunting, not sure about a little fishy. However I do like the idea, I might just consider it.  ##$%#1115

time spent outside is limited to releasing your bladder

i didn't know if this idea would fly. it was worth a shot. it's totally different than most of the guys here have experienced, so i figured i'd make the offer. no harm, no foul ^^&&$%GT

I like the idea Yari - have always wanted to try my hand at ice fishing and certainly could fit the "grumpy old men" stereotype.  What time of the frigid winter would be appropriate for that typically?  Don't know when you guys typically lose safe ice up there in the arctic.  My last 8-9 weeks of my career in Jan & Feb are pretty packed this year but after that my schedule opens up dramatically!
One of God's greatest gifts to us is
the great outdoors - get out there
and enjoy it!

mad- i'm heading up 1/17 for the annual trip. after that i'm open for suggestions. they are 4 man shacks. most require 2 person minimum. we would have to pick a date quickly. they book up fast and may already be booked.

anyone want to throw out a couple dates? i'll do the leg work
