Possible plan....

Fishing dates  - March 10,11,12 (Sunday-Tuesday)

Friday afternoon I go pick up Mike (2 hrs)
We drive to Peoria IL to meet up with Mad (4.5 hours) arriving around 9 to 10 PM
We crash at Mad's house (with his wife's permission)
We leave Peoria early saturday morning to meet Yari in Minneapolis (6.5 hrs)
then we head to williams MN and find a hotel somewhere that night. (5.5 hrs)
Get on the Ice sunday morning.
Leave the ice Tuesday around noon
Drive back to minneapolis to drop off yari then back to Peoria (12 hrs)
Crash at Mad's house again then leave early for Evansville (4.5 hrs) arriving Wednesday Morning

A lot of hard driving but its the only way I can limit the week days for WV

this is a possible plan that depends on WV getting time away from the shop. He wont know how many days he can be away until we get closer. If his time is limited, me and him may fly together from Evansville to Minneapolis that Saturday morning.

I know yari wants to get it booked soon so why dont we all have a conversation about it. Maybe a conference call tomorrow night? We can use my companies conf call system. Say 8 PM central time?

Probably can't make the call tomorrow night, need to be at the Christmas party for Dream Center kids, but let me know what you prefer.  I think I can convince the warden to let you guys get some sleep here coming and going if that's what works for you.  The March dates are currently open for me.

i'm going to try to borrow a couple vexilars/depth finders for you guys. does anyone have access to 12 volt batteries? they are used a lot for back-up system for smoke detectors and alarms. they usually go unused and the gov't requires companies to replace them every couple years

i've been lucky over the years to snag a couple from hospitals. they are a lot better than what i can buy retail. it would be best to have a couple per unit so we can swap one out and recharge the other

Once you confirm dates Yari, let us know if we need to call them to pay or if we send you a check or ??  I have zero experience in the ice fishing department, so any advice on gear to bring along for the fishing part is certainly welcome.  Looks like we have 2 holes per person - do you use a rod in each hole or tip-ups, or one of each?  Fish in one & keep your beer cold in the other?

As for batteries - I need to buy myself a new portable jump starter, one of those would probably power a depth finder for a while.  Do they have generators out at the shacks for re-charging?  Sorry for all the dumb questions, just a noob who is more aquainted with soft water sports.

mad- i'm going to try to get 2 poles for each. if not, i'll figure it out. rattle wheels are always fun for one hole and I have one. they may have some to

rookie! beer sinks in the open hole. more than one un-opened beverage has sunk to the bottom of the big pond --7-8-9 @--0--0105

FYI. the area by the holes is our fridge. since it's March, maybe the stuff IN the coolers outside won't freeze solid. in January, anything IN the coolers freezers like a rock

I would think your company would have a bunch of 12V batteries. check w/ maintenance.

keep the questions coming. i'll take care of the gear as best I can. once we get the gear, game on ^^&&$%GT ^^&&$%GT

My generator is a beast, not worth bringing along.

I'll put a little life vest on my beers Yari so they keep their noses out of the water, fear not!  I'm not opposed to buying some gear so don't sweat it if you don't have enough spares.  Always thought I'd like to do some ice fishing, just never got around to it - this might be just the spark I need to get started.  Wife is already rolling her eyes when I tell her I need to go buy some gadgets!   --099-780

let me know if you need ideas. walleye poles are normally mid-weight. cabelas has some nice stuff. like i said, rattle wheels aren't expensive and work well

i'll have plenty of lures. we normally stop any get get lures anyway just because. @--0--0117

life jackets? good to know you aren't into alcohol abuse. --099-780
