it was a little better in WI. I saw several does and fawns and 2 6pts. I was on stand from 6AM until 5PM. the morning wind until 11:00 was +15mph in my face. man was that rough

I heard 1 shot all day. I've never heard a WI gun opener this quiet. the good news is no big boys down. i'm still in the game

good luck to all

Good luck Sunday morning, I will be up at 5 and heading out hoping as always.

At this point, if a big does shows up that would be something. I can try and get the doe and donate it to our local Hunters Helping The Hungry porgram.

He butchers it for a discount off regular costs with all the venision going to thr HFH pantry for the needy.

Round 2 at 2pm to sunset.

Nada.

Working next 48 hours.

Then, if I am not too beat, try again Wednesday

This app I have been using for years shows Wed-Fri the peak is on, again.

This is why they call it hunting and not "shooting" - stick with it, you'll get your opportunities.  I hunted hard the last two and a half days - saw deer each day but all little stuff.  Was ready to drop the hammer on a big doe or big buck, but didn't see either.
One of God's greatest gifts to us is
the great outdoors - get out there
and enjoy it!

So, that evening and the next I went off our back porch to let the dog out. Yep, deer laying down all over. Went to work this morning at the T in the road when I have to turn left, they were laying on the lawn at the top of the T as I turned left --7-8-9

I am off the next few days, I will go out in the cold and hope the winds wont pick up already forcasted at 15 mph with higher gusts @--0--0126

I passed on hunting yesterday and today as winds were howling.

I had to take in and adjust the clock on one of my trail cams. Old Moultrie.photos were crummy, could be more issues to figure out but since it powered on I cleaned up the SD card, fixed the date.

Today, Thanksgiving, I head out at 2:55pm to put the camera out. Darn cold.

I brought the dog off the leash to walk with me. i headed into the woods and out came a flock of Turkeys walking there!  I stopped as they continued deeper into the woods. My dog usually stays with me but this time he stayed back at the house. Good thing, it would have been a messy event. I went to reach for my iphone, darn, I did not have it to take photos. But my other trail cams are up and running so I will check them later to get the good photos.

Turkeys walking around on Thanksgiving  --7-8-9

Still windy but I will try to see if any bucks come by.
