Youth day 7 pt
« on: November 13, 2018, 09:20:55 AM »
Saturday my son Vincent got his first " Big Buck"!! He killed a button buck in 2016 and this year he killed a nice 7 pt. We hunted Sat evening in a stand dubbe dthe big buck stand. We got settle din at 2:40pm and the wind was putting it on us, it was 45 with a wind chill of 35 LOL!! So at 4:40 I spot a big coming up the edge of the soybean field checking the many scraps along the way. So I notify the hunter of my observation, he looks and starts breathing funny!! The buck keeps on coming and ends up at 25 yds broadside right in front of us- I give the green light - nothing- I look over and some big dummy(me) didn't cock the hammer on the H&R!!!! So now he's looking up at us-- More hevy breathing from me now LOL So i reach over and cock the gun "click" Buck does a two hop and stops in the next shooting lane SHO-- BANG!!! I didn't even get a chance to say it that time. ;D So the buck ran around the corner and piled up in about 50 yds. Vincent made a great shot cut the heart clean in two. I am still grinning.

That's awesome, it doesn't get any better than that, except for cocking the gun part  --099-780

Congrats to Vincent and a fine deer that someone tried to scare off for you.
