Bruiser's Demise!
« on: November 05, 2018, 01:48:24 PM »
Well here's the long story shorter.  I shot at Bruiser last Saturday, opening day of muzzleloader.  After two days of searching we concluded it was a clean miss.  Our conclusion was confirmed when we spotted him following some does a few days later (no injuries whatsoever).  Fast forward to last night/evening, it was the last day of a 9 day muzzleloader season.  I decided not to take my muzzleloader and instead opted to sit with the wife in the Redneck Blind.  We saw a few does and one really nice 8 pointer, but she decided to hold out for a more mature buck (Bruiser).  With about 15 minutes of shooting light left he entered the food plot chasing every doe in sight.  He came to the edge of the plot scent checking a doe giving the wife a perfect 60 yard quartering away shot.  He dropped on the spot.  He sported 10 points including one broken tine, had an inside spread of 19" and had lost a significant amount of weight putting him at 170 lbs on the hoof. Oh, by the way, we duck hunted that morning and watched another nice 8 pointer breed a doe at 50 yards as I serenaded her with my sweet duck calling (yeah right).  Love is in the air, best of luck everyone!
