it's WI bow opener and the heat index will be 98 today and 92 sunday.  --7-8-9 --7-8-9 --7-8-9 this may be OK for you southern boys, but not for this northern boy.

the cabin had storms move though last night and over 1" of rain. I don't know if it will dry out up there this year. "big rains coming" mid-week when the temps get back to normal

my deer season was obviously postponed. I tried fishing last night. 2 smallies and 2 largemouth. there's an incredible amount of baitfish in the river for the 2nd year in a row. I've never seen anything like it. my screen just goes black. no need to eat my bait when they have so much free food. BTW it was just steamy out there. i'm ready for fall

bacon bash today. local town has local brews and anything pork. live music, bacon, brews... i'm all in

Going to 92 here today and I'm not in the woods. Our archery season opened last weekend. Way to hot for me I'll be watching a little college football and doing some honey do's around the house. Hopefully we'll get some cooler weather in the next few weeks but it hard to got to the woods when the low is in the 70's...so I feel your pain!!!

Yeah, with temps and humidity like that I won't be hunting.  Bacon Bash though sounds outstanding!  Got some outside work done this morning, sprayed weeds, transplanted some little trees, and then went ahead and disced up that volunteer food plot I was telling you about last week, will sow winter wheat in it and pack it tomorrow, supposed to get some rain Tuesday.  Got a wedding this afternoon, so rest of the day is shot.  Stay cool Yari!

it was so hot. good thing we hydrated liberally --099-780 (that is about the only time you can use yari and liberal in the same sentence @--0--0105) I had to try a few of the new micros and help them along w/ their business.

I did have some 'pig wings'. I never heard of such a thing, but I highly recommend them. wow were they tasty

stay cool all. we are hot until Tuesday, then the good stuff moves in. unfortunately, "large amounts of rain" w/ the cooler temps

Today was our fall turkey opener.  Both toms and hens are legal.  You can buy a max of 5 tags, but only one per day.  Resident tags $20. Senior tags $6.  I just may pick one up.  Still way too hot for turkey hunting, or anything else, unless it is a woodchuck. Oh, the turkey season lasts until Nov 14.  Archery deer begins on Oct 1st, so then you have an opportunity to bag a deer or a turkey.

temps up here in canada have been above average and humid all summer...this morning is our cool down finally with temperature at 8 degrees c so about 50f. much needed rain comes tonight.
surprisingly I put in my brassicas about three or four weeks ago into somewhat damp soil and rolled. It has only rained once since then..a decent soaking rain and  most of my plots are about 6-8 inches high and looking healthy. This next rain shoot make it take right off.
I also put in a new whitetail institute clover plot and even it has afew inches of growth but it is in a partial shady area so not so hot.I sprinkled a little wintergreens in with it to bring deer in later and it is also doing well.
Bears are open here but to hot and three are around the cameras pretty steady.
Three bucks pretty steady with a 9 point three year old looking ok.They just lost their velvet last week.
Good luck as the seasons begin.

i'm headed up in the morning. they are talking 60's and 30's at night. hopefully something big showed up in the last 2 weeks! the only issue will be the wind. 15-20 mph friday and better saturday but the wrong direction. figures!

this weekend is the HUNTER'S MOON. get after it boys. they will be moving w/ the cool front. i've killed some nice buck's during the Hunter's moon.

good luck
