Started shooting bow in April. Up to five days a week and forty yards. Preparing for elk hunt in Colorado.

Yari, get a bow sling if you don't have one. Should be open hand or thumb and index finger touching. Or, you can try a golf glove.

gobi- i've tried to like a sling. i just can't like it or get use to it. too many years of shooting before they came out i guess. tough to teach an old dog new tricks. plus, for some reason i was getting cramps in my hands using that from, touching finger and thumb. i was all messed up @--0--0105

good luck on your elk hunt. you leaving next week? where are you going?

Yari, thanks. Will leave on 9/12  for Somerset  Colorado.

I been shooting bow for 50 years. It took awhile to get use to sling. Best suggest I have left is shoot early morning or late evening. Best time to practice because most shots are taken then. Last week one night I shot so late had to shoot with both eyes open to see target.

Agreed! I was in south Ft. myers near Estero when Irma hit. Had to sleep on a high school floor in Lehigh Acres. Got a flight out many days later. Epic and expensive trip.

FL Gator, When I move to Florida I will need tips on where to hunt. My new home is a bit north of Estero. Not many place around there I think unless residents can get permits to hunt aound RSW airport?
