LOTW 2018 musky
« on: July 14, 2018, 10:02:46 AM »
I got back alive. we had tough conditions. one day was storms and blew all day, no fishing. 2 other days were 10-15 mph and we fished, but balance was an issue. you can't change the weather!

we got 11 muskies. the biggest was 50" on a figure 8. 5 fish over 40". we did the best in camp and I have the big fish so far this year. i'm sure it won't last for long.

it's a great place. eagles everywhere, loons, deer, snapping turtles that are huge, beavers(one as big as a bear)

I went 24 fishing hours without a fish and then caught 2 in 5 minutes. musky fishing is nuts.

I was trying to move the boat around a rock in the wind and my buddy says "musky" on my bait I had dangling. I figures 8 and he pounds it. I loose my balance w/ the waves almost going in. at the same time the fish goes airborn and almost comes in the boat. my buddy hits the deck. I wish it was on video. my mind was racing. if I go in, what do I do w the pole? how many hooks will I take? it worked out and we laughed so hard i'm sure they heard us for miles

now I can plan for next year

Awesome fish Yari, that's gotta be pretty exciting having a monster like that taking the bait right in front of you.  Sounds like a reasonably good trip despite the weather, congrats!

thx all. musky fishing is a lot like hunting. if you do go, LOTW is the place for action. it's miles ahead of other places I've been for musky numbers.
