Nailed another one!
« on: July 11, 2018, 07:07:10 PM »
I knew it was a matter of time.  I had spotted a chuck a couple of days ago, but it left the area by the time I got out with my Axis.  I knew it would be back.  Today was his not so lucky day.  It was out eating mulberries, and I used the big spruce and maple trees as cover.  I could see him but actually he was behind a section of wire fencing I use to protect a young pear tree from the young bucks rubbing their antlers.  Lined up the crosshairs as soon as he was in the clear.  Waited a very few minutes until hr gave a broadside shot.  Squeezed the trigger and he was DRT!
