Haven't seen one with quite that much black on it, but they vary quite a bit.  Have trapped or shot them ranging from nearly pure white to heavy black with grey backs & heads, but not completely black across the back like that.

Never seen a possum that dark.  did see a reddish colored raccoon once, walking across my backyard.   Would have liked to be able to take a shot at him, but he was a bit too far away for my .22 rifle.

Never saw one that had that much black on it
