Maiden voyage for knee
« on: May 30, 2018, 02:00:04 PM »
Took Mrs DH to northern Wis for a 5 day mental adjustment get away for both of us. Turned off cell phones and camped by the Amnicon River. The current was a bit stiff with all of the rain that has fallen up there, near Superior and Duluth. First I broke out the camera and then put the waders on and slowly worked my way into the water. Felt pretty good just extra careful once I got knee deep on slippery rocks. Made a few casts and let the fly drift through eddies. Caught and released 3 browns. Lots of fun. I'm still learning to trust the knee, more between my ears now than behind kneecap.

yari, Between Poplar and South Range. It runs under HWY 53 and 2. There's a WI state park Amnicon Falls. Had a good time walking dogs and wife.  ;D Only one fly floater though.

dave, Just a little north of knee deep...  --7-8-9  @--0--0123

I might have had a senior moment. I've been all over up there in HS and college. is there a big rock that the steelhead run up in the spring? I remember long days not catching a single steelhead and going to the rock and seeing fish constantly swimming up the rock. of course that area was off limits to fishing
