Take a Vet Fishing
« on: April 14, 2018, 05:29:40 PM »
One of the clubs I belong to is holding an event this coming Sat....this is our second one and a start to a tradition that we hope will be on going for years to come. I don't know if any of you help with these, but it can really make a difference in a Vet's life...lots of planing tons of work but well worth every effort put into it...it's a way to pay it forward...for some it's their only outside activity due to health (both physical and mental) or personal situations...look'em up lend a hand...

Thanks

Well, how about that...after Turkey hunting yesterday...my Grandson ask if he could help out with the Vet's fishing day...I asked what he could do to help out...he kinda looked at me as if I had 3 heads and said..you know help them bait hooks...net their fish...bring them drinks or their food, walk with them so they don't fall, you know stuff to help...makes me kind of proud...

we stocked the pond with 350 trout had a bunch already in there and 70-80 vets caught a total of 145 in just over 5 hours...guys and gals had a blast,,we had 2 BSA scout troops, my grandson and a few other kids helping the Vets in every way they could...there just isn't a word or even group of words that can do justice to the caliber of folks that put these event on...I am so proud of the volunteers, club members and kids that took the time to give back to these fine folks, so proud to be even a small part of it...good times great food and exceptional comradely...on the schedule for 2020 and looking forward to it...
