i didn't see anything about this. how do you apply?

i find this hard to believe. the herd has grown by 20 elk in 15 years. i don't call that a sustainable herd. they are only 10-15 miles from the cabin

Yari check with the DNR , there will be 4 drawn at random , the RMEF will have a lottery pick ( check with RMEF ) . there from the heard that they started with MI back in 1995 the heard is up to 200 now and bull heavy . There will be some tags for the tribes also .   @--0--0101
I get updates from the DNR .  It's the Clam lake Elk group .

thx sun. i found it. 10 tags total. 5 go to the local tribes. WHY? that is as dumb as allowing tribes to still spear walleyes, protecting wolves and not taxing casino money. don't get me started!!!

the herd is bull heavy because it's easier for the wolves to take down a cow.

another strange thing is WI just brought 31 elk from KY. those elk are 'off limits'. i wonder how they will mark them?

1989 was the first elk introduction. i was way off. how time flies. it's been a wolf feeding program IMO. too bad

don't get me wrong. i was 100% in favor of shooting elk on my place. that was before wolves. the wolves are out of hand and i doubt i will ever shoot elk in WI. it would be like winning the lottery w/ 5 tags and over 600,000 hunters. tough odds

sorry for being so negative. i've been very close to this since the beginning. i actually had a bull walk through my place shortly after they were released. i had high hopes

WOHOOO I'm ready. Have been watching from the beginning as well. My wife and I have been to Clam Lake looking for elk. It was awesome to see a mom and her calf. I will be applying for a tag and buying a raffle ticket. I'm going to Colorado in September for elk. Would be totally awesome if I shot an elk with a bow and a gun in the same year.
