Red or Gray?

I wonder if this fox is a red or gray fox. ( or a cross)

I would guess red, looks kinda leggy for a grey, but without something next to it for a size reference tough to call.  Was that a moonlight shot?

No Mad, I took it about 5 PM and the snow kept it blurred. It was about 200 yDs out.

I feel it's a big grey but i'm no expert.

It's been so stinking long since I've seen a grey fox I'm probably not qualified to comment - at least 20 years.  If that was daylight and against the snow & didn't immediately register with you as a red then more than likely a grey.  My back fence is a touch over 200 yards and we used to have one that would run along there a few years ago, even at dusk you could tell he was a red one.

the grays we have around here are a little bigger than a house cat. IMO that looks much bigger than that

buck- you need to get a better pic and let us know. we seem divided down the middle

If you look at the neck/head area and the bottom of it's belly it appears to have a reddish brown tone in contrast to the rest of the body like a gray fox.
