it's time again...
« on: January 09, 2018, 05:20:23 PM »
for my annual ice fishing trip to LOTW. the forecast HIGH for the 4 days will be -5 with lows at +20 below zero. I CAN'T WAIT. at this point, i would expect no less. it seems to be this cold every year.

here's the hitch: i'm leaving at 5 AM thurs. the rain turning to snow w/ the temps dropping will start wed night. the drive will be miserable. the worst part is i'm leaving my wife and daughter to deal w/ the mess. if it gets too bad, i lined up a neighbor to plow.(i'm sure he will get a nice bourbon out of the deal)

i sure hope the eelpout are biting ^^&&$%GT @--0--0105

Sounds like a good time headed your way. Best of luck with the fishing. I just can't wrap my head around that ice fishing -5 for the high and -20 lows... @--0--0127

Yeah Yari, a nice bottle for the neighbor is probably in order, and perhaps something for the ladies at home too!  Good luck with the fishing, keep those extremities covered.  You'll need a cooler for your beer to keep it from freezing!

Sounds like a good time except the frozen beer part you need to keep that in liquid form for easy consumption!! The ladies will be fine I am sure. Have fun and catch some fish.

we decided on postponing the trip departure. hopefully the storm isn't as bad as they are talking. hopefully we only miss 1/2 a day of fishing. i didn't want to worry about the mess i left behind. i have a nasty steep and long driveway that needs to be scraped or it's a skating rink. plus, i didn't want to impose on the neighbor. if all goes well, we will get up there tomorrow night

Best of luck and have a great time. Do you have Striker or Arctic Armour suit? They both are super super warm must have gear for when I head out.
