Last chance
« on: January 02, 2018, 08:11:47 AM »
I did not get out this weekend too cold and I have a cold so I took it easy and caught up on some indorrs chores. Our 3 day late shotgun season opens on Friday so that will be my last chance for soem meat with a firearm. So I'll be working on Friday duck hunting Sat morning suppose to be 9 degrees Sat morning hope the Cans are flying. Then I'll deer hunt Sat evening it will be warmer about 20 and finish off deer hunting on Sunday all day. The swamp buck I started hunting in Sept has not been seen since Nov 2 and I haven't heard of him being taken so I may plan a few bow hunts between waterfowel and beaver trapping. Good luck to everyone still getting after it.

Good luck with the beaver and waterfowl. My son and my daughters boyfriend have been knocking the snot out of the geese at our house the past two weeks. Also I was in your neck of the woods again last week. Spent a little time in Baltimore.

Our deer season ended New Year's Day and I did not hunt.  That Artic Blast hit us with 15MPH wind and 25MPH gust.   @--0--0127

Glad to hear the geese are flying out your way and they are getting a truck ride. Don't let Baltimore taint your opinion of Maryland please!! I live about a hour and a half south of there and it is alot different heck 40 mins east you are good.  ;D

Thanks everyone I am going to give it my best. Yari I think my swamp buck is living right behind a house in a little patch woods that nobody can hunt it's only maybe 2 acres. I heard yesterday that the lady who lives there saw a big buck in her yard. It's only 1/4 mile through the woods fromthe swamp. So he may cruise through but I doubt it.

Good luck, Bluetoe! A few years ago, I filled a doe tag 2-1/2 hrs before our late doe season ended.

Well got word today that the duck hunt is cancelled. Unsafe conditions- 4 degrees on Sat morning High of 20 wind blowing 25-30 so good old wind chill will be a factor, the river shore is froze but not solid but like smoothy, 11 yr old dog, 2 75 yr olds and 2 guys in their 60's and me and my buddy in our 50's. Someone goes down they would be done before they could walk the 300 yds to the truck. So my duck hunt is moved Jan 13. I will spend some time indoors Sat ;D. I will get to deer hunt on Sun and I will be setting my beaver traps on Tuesday when it's going to be 50 degrees @--0--0117
