Glad all went well! Very happy the strenght went down from initial estimates.

We get out of FL this coming Thursday.

I got video of where we will build the house near RSW airport. No homes up yet except the models but the two main streets were flodded up to top if curve. I will check with builder to make sure when they are done ponding will not happen. Models look unscathed. Some trees down, but they have not been planted long.

That's good news OF Gator: God is Good.

As for you Flint, put that house up on stilts about 30 or 40 feet and you can use it as a hunting blind too, with all the comforts of home.  --099-780

great news. i have a bunch of clients heading to the Keys today to access the damage. they all self insure because of the crazy cost of insurance down there. it was over 10K/month. we'll see if their 'hurricane proof' windows and exteriors held up

We had many of the same build codes that FL after Katrina. To me, many were just good common sense things to do. The problem, they have not been enforced well and the state of LA and it's politicians watered them down. I particularly like the 2 x 4 resistant windows.
