I could not not wait so I pulled the trigger so I ordered the Reconyx HC500

I got the energizer batteries too.

Trail camera will be here by Monday.

Thanks all! It is here. Waiting for the wife to go to bed so I can get it out of the basement and check it out  --7-8-9

I hope to have it up and running tomorrow.

It takes pictures only, no video.

The HC 500 (mine) uses low glow infrared. The HC 600 using no glow but deer never acted poorly to the low glow Browning trail cams I have.

Reconyx is supposed to have a better lens and super speed vs. typical trail cams I have that tout higher megapixels but are slower and not as clear from all the reading i have done on trail camera comparisons.

good to hear you have brownings. i have a buddy that has 2 reconx and several brownings. the reconx are better, but he said he doesn't know if they are 5x the cost better. i'll like to hear your opinion.
