gravel lizards- PIC ADDED FINALLY
« on: June 16, 2017, 07:28:16 PM »
the gravel lizards were on the chew today. i took 1/2 day and went fishing with my wife. she likes to be in the boat and net the fish. i started fishing about 1:30 and had a limit by 3:00. 15-18" and let a 22" go. she was too big IMO. my wife hammered a keeper w/ the net that go away and i had another 3-4 that got off shortly after the hook set. it was a great mid-day bite. i keep trying to convince my dad that walleye bite all day, but he only likes early and late. that' leaves more room for me @--0--0118

i only caught walleye today which is VERY STRANGE on the river @--0--0117 there is sooo much variety, i normally catch 5-6 different species. i did have a hog on that bit like a catfish. it managed to tangle me into something and got off. one of 4-5 break-offs today which is a lot for me

beer batter gravel lizard is in my stomach and a beverage by my side. great friday night for sure

for some reason the pic won't work. sorry

sounds like a good day to me! wish I could be doing that instead of knocking hay down to make a bunch of idiot cubes.  I agree with both you and your dad yari, I've fished some lakes where walleye bite all day, and then other lakes where they only bite early and late.  good luck and keep fishin!

Man you got to love those mid day bites. Some of my best fishing has been from 11-4 but I do love to be on the lake at sunrise in the summer for a few hours of some good top water action. Sounds like the bite is on so stay after them.

Congrats Yari - not sure if I'd rather be on the boat with you catching or at the table eating - both sound pretty darn good.

NWIA- i don't envy you. i use to hire out stacking bails all summer as a kid. it's a nasty job, especially when it hot and humid. i hope to never do that again.

thx all. had a beer batter meal last night and made extra for a walleye sandwich today. it doesn't get much better IMO. maybe sunfsh and perch, but i'm not complaining

today was slower. caught 5 this morning w/ 2 keepers. the other fish were getting in the way today. smallies, rock bass, sunnies... it was a great morning to be out there

tight lines all
