rain rain rain
« on: May 18, 2017, 09:19:32 PM »
we got 6" of rain so far this week and more to come. i had planned to go north and work on the fields and plant some sunflowers in a new field. i got some seed for nothing so i figured i'd plant it. i know deer like them, but i doubt they will get past the bear and turkeys. the new plan is to head up next week and be home to spend some of memorial weekend w/ the family. i hope it dries out enough

i also need to spray my WTI clover, but fields and lime my apple trees. i always heard apples liked acidic soil until recently. this article said get the PH close to 7. i'm only at 5.1 up there. makes sense, the trees close to plots are all better than the others

it's crunch time in WI. i have 3 month max to get a years worth of work in. in june i have family in town every weekend, so they will need to come with or forgive me. july i'm gone 2 weekends for musky trip. i need to hire some help --7-8-9

get 'er done all

i had lunch w/ another food plotter. he planted 3 acres last week. he may have been washed out. that would be a shame. time and cost of seed wasted. i'm glad i din't plant last week.

always look for a positive @--0--0117

Was hoping to get one planted here at home this weekend, but an inch and a half since Friday morning put an end to that idea.  @--0--0100

Things were just starting to dry out yesterday evening here, then more rain coming down tonight as I drove home from work.

On the bright side though, my wood duck house on the new pond must have met their expectations, I saw momma and poppa herding a little flock of woodie ducklings this morning!

mad- congrats on the little ones. i wish i had some luck

their are just too many predators at my cabin. duck houses are targets so i quit putting them out. i'd find hen feathers in and out of the houses. i wasn't helping at all
